ABOUT US & WHO WE ARE

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Friends of the Oglala Lakota is an all-volunteer organization. Volunteers pay for their own
travel expenses when work for the organization requires traveling, and 100% of your donation
goes toward our projects. Our primary projects are: a $2500 annual scholarship; sending books
to Oglala children, K-12 and college age; and raising awareness through an annual film festival.

Friends was founded in 1994 by Nancy Cayford of Dublin, NH. The 501(c)3 non-profit organiza
-
tion is supported financially by the public. Nancy is non-Indian and considers herself a cultural
broker. Cultural brokers bridge the gap between one culture and another, in this organization
it is between American Indian and non-Indians. Federal I.D. # 02-0485910
